How to play

From first roll to first Godlike

Balls Tournament takes a minute to learn and a lot longer to master. Here is the whole control scheme, what every pickup does, and the tactics that separate a 3/15 finish from a win.

Controls in eight steps

  1. Pick a mode, an arena and a difficulty

From the main menu choose single player (you against 14 bots, any of the 13 arenas, five difficulty levels) or multiplayer (a real-time online room of up to 15 players that rolls a random arena). Hold the phone in landscape.

  2. Tilt to roll

Tilt the phone forward to accelerate, back to brake and sideways to turn. Your ball keeps its momentum, so start turns early and let the walls and ramps bank you around corners.

  3. Tap JUMP to hop

The left button jumps. Use it to clear fences, get onto crates for a better angle, dodge an incoming grenade or drop off a ramp faster than anyone can aim.

  4. Tap FIRE to shoot

The right button fires your equipped weapon in the direction you are rolling. Keep moving while you shoot: a rolling ball is much harder to hit than a parked one.

  5. Throw a grenade

The GRENADE button lobs a grenade with a two-second fuse and 60 splash damage in a four-metre radius, then needs three seconds to cool down. Bank it off a wall into a lane full of balls.

  6. Use the knife up close

The KNIFE button lunges two metres for 45 damage with a one-second cooldown. When a ball is right next to you it is faster than any gun.

  7. Grab the pickups

Health restores you. Freeze stops every enemy for ten seconds. Flash is a rare bonus pickup on a two-minute respawn — a burst of light when you grab it. Coins go straight into your wallet.

  8. Win the deathmatch

Every frag is a point on the bar at the top and 5 coins. When the timer runs out (five minutes offline, four online), the ball with the most frags wins — and earns 50 bonus coins on top of the 20 for finishing.

Tactics that win matches

Which difficulty should I pick?

LevelPick it when
I Can WinYou are learning the tilt and the arenas. Bots barely hurt you.
Bring It OnYou can finish in the top five and want a fair fight.
Hurt Me PlentyYou know the health spawns and want bots that punish mistakes.
HardcoreYou want fast, accurate bots and real duels.
NightmareOne hit kills you. Survive as long as you can — that is the game.

Playing online

Choose multiplayer from the main menu and the game finds a room — or opens one — on Photon Fusion 2. The room rolls a random arena for everyone, holds up to 15 real players and shows nicknames above every ball. Online rooms have no bots, so every frag you take is another person's. Enter a nickname in the options first if you want it on the frag bar.

Earning and spending coins

Frags pay 5 coins, finishing a match 20, winning it 50, and the 7-day login streak grows from 20 to 120 coins a day. Coins picked up in the arena are banked immediately. In the shop: Lightning 250, Halo 500, Supernova 800, defence shield 300, skins from 100 to 800 — 3,400 coins for everything, no purchase required. Coin packs and a Remove Ads subscription are there if you prefer to skip ahead.

The tilt controls feel inverted or the ball drifts on its own

Hold the phone flat in landscape and make sure rotation lock is off. If the ball drifts while the phone is flat, put it on a table for a second when the match starts — the accelerometer calibrates to how you hold it.

How do I switch weapons or skins?

Buy them in the main-menu shop, then tap the item to equip it. One weapon and one skin are active at a time; the change applies to your next match.

Can I play with friends?

Online rooms are matched automatically; there is no private lobby yet. Join at the same time and you will usually land in the same room.
